Is Yoga Teacher Training Calling You?
For Five Years The Shiva Yoga Shala has been educating and training new teachers through our 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified training. As our family of teachers has grown, so has our training. We are now excited to be offering 200, 300, and Continuing Education programs for hopefuls or current teachers.
Our 200 hour program is a full immersion into the fundamentals, philosophies, and physiologies of being a yoga teacher. Cohorts run twice a year, in the spring and in the fall.
The 300 hour program is a continuation of education for those who have already completed 200 hour Yoga Alliance Program and are seeking to becoming a 500 hour RYT. It has flexible scheduling so it can be completed at the pace desired by the participant. New enrollment occurs once a quarter.
Our Continuing Education program is available for those who are seeking to complete additional hours of training needed to maintain their Registration. Most workshops are also open to those who have not completed teacher training but wish to learn more about a particular modality or philosophy of study. New workshops are available nearly every weekend and can be paid for on demand or with a monthly subscription to attend all or view past workshops.
No matter if you are looking to hone your skills as a teacher, or simply deepen your practice as a student, there is a program that is right for you.
200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Fall Cohort August 27 – December 12
The 200 hour Teacher Training is the introductory program to the world of teaching. The course explores the depth of yoga beyond the poses or asana practice while teaching you how to safely and aptly lead a yoga class. We are proud to offer this Yoga Alliance certified training program that will be a life changing experience. Your practice will reach levels you never before thought possible and will expose you to a breadth of knowledge and learning that otherwise would take years to attain. Students of all levels are encouraged to use this training to begin or continue a journey of personal exploration and to develop or enhance your current yoga practice. Not everyone that takes a teacher training program plans to teach.
What You Will Learn
The program is lead by the Ageless Program founder and Shala owner, Nick Montoya. He brings ten-plus years of yoga teaching and 30 years of leadership development to this training. He is assisted by Giana Montoya, a Shala owner and 18-year practitioner/teacher, Molly Powell, and Valerie Guadagno, who will each teach several of the areas of study.
Teaching others helps to gain confidence and experience. You will begin teaching others the very first weekend and leave the program prepared to teach several styles of classes anywhere. Trainees are challenged on many levels and life changing transformation occurs naturally. Shala means “home”. The Shala is a safe and trusting home for your teacher training journey where you are supported, encouraged, and loved.
