Tips & Etiquette
- Your practice is your own. Honor your body every visit. Amp up your practice when you need more, but take rest when it is needed.
- Arrive to class a minimum of 5 minutes early to settle in, grab props, and set yourself top for class.
- Leave cell phones outside of the practice space and set to silent. Doors are locked during practices so your belongs are safe in the studio.
- Students may be meditating before or after class. Please keep conversations in the main welcome area of the studio.
- Always inform teachers or class assistants of any injuries or if you do not wish to be assisted during classes.
- When taking heated classes, sip water instead of gulping, Gulping can result in feelings of nausea.
- Avoid drinking caffeine or eating before classes. This can cause nausea or dizziness.
- If at any point should you experience and nausea, dizziness, or uncomfortableness come to stillness, sitting or laying on the mat and taking deep breaths. Do not rejoin the physical practice until you feel ready.
- The Shala is a judgment free zone. Leave all your expectations of teachers, other students, and most importantly of yourself at the door and allow yourself to experience each practice.
